The project of documenting the actual state in Prague's heart ranked among the more challenging implementations. The building in the center of Old Town has historic character, complex geometry, and each apartment has a different layout.

The goal was to verify actual floor areas and create precise documentation materials for subsequent project phases and building records. A FARO Focus 3D laser scanner was used for surveying, capturing interior geometry with high precision.

After processing data in Autodesk ReCap and CloudCompare, automatic point cloud vectorization was performed, making it possible to precisely define room outlines and calculate usable areas. This process allowed efficient handling of the extensive object with minimal manual work and errors.

The output was a set of 2D drawings (floor plans) and a comprehensive area schedule serving as a basis for property management and renovation project preparation. Through automated vectorization, high accuracy and consistent output across the entire building were achieved.

The entire project proceeded in close communication with the client, emphasizing timeline, quality, and clear results. After completion, the client wrote: "We highly recommend Mr. Krofta. Fast, kind, and above all professional approach. Everything proceeded as agreed and exceeded our expectations. We'll turn to him again."

This project confirmed that combining precise scanning with automated processing delivers reliable results even with complex objects in the historic center. The survey of the apartment building demonstrated that modern technology can improve area calculations even with irregular layouts where traditional methods would fail.
