Construction AI includes language models, computer vision, prediction, optimisation and classification. Its reliability depends on data quality, task definition and expert oversight.

Design and preconstruction

AI can support requirement search, summaries, option generation and review checklists, but outputs require technical and legal verification.

Construction delivery

Computer vision can classify progress images and flag selected risks, but occlusion, lighting and incomplete coverage affect results.

Document review

AI is useful for repeated completeness and consistency checks. Professional approval remains with qualified people.

Operations

Predictive maintenance requires reliable failure history and operational data; without them, predictions are weak.

Governance

Address confidentiality, copyright, personal data, auditability, approvals and supplier dependency.

Need deliverables that remain usable

Before commissioning the work, define the purpose, survey scope, required accuracy, deliverable formats and acceptance checks in writing. DigiStav provides surveying, building records, 2D documentation, point clouds and BIM-ready outputs for buildings, infrastructure and industrial assets. The scope should always follow the intended use rather than a generic package.

This article provides general technical information. It is not a substitute for project-specific legal, surveying, engineering or professional-authorisation advice.
